NEED consults governmental, non-governmental, private sectors and other organizations in planning, developing and implementation of social and behavioural change approach in a systematic manner

NEED consults governmental, non-governmental, privet sector and other organizations in planning, developing and implementation of social and behavior change approach in a systematic manner, it doing so ,it employs an evidence based, consultative process that supports and influence practices that promote more productive and healthier lives. We have been working with care Ethiopia to develop radio spots with evidence based Adolescent, Maternal, Infant and Young Child (AMIYC) nutrition messages that could help bring desired nutrition behavioral changes among the program target community. such projects focuses on producing locally adapted or newly created radio spots that aims to convey AMIYCN nutrition messages that will bring a positive behavioral change. Prior to the radio spots production, the task involves an audience assessment in some selected targeted localities.

The other very important project was with nutrient international (NI) develop terms of reference to provide technical expertise to revise existing BCI strategy developed by PSI in consultation with NI and other IYCF partners. These can strengthen the awareness creation and behavioral change interventions; develop communication messages to specified target audiences to support the behavioral change objectives in the six regions (Tigray. Amhara, Oromia and SNNPR, Afar and Benishangul Gumuz); 96 woredas selected to improve the implementation of Infant and Young Child Feeding activities.

According to different researches, Ethiopia is one of the countries most affected by child malnutrition which in turn results in high rates of infant mortality and underlying cause of 57% of child deaths in Ethiopia (SCUK 2009), with some of the highest rates of stunting and underweight in the world. Which indicate that there must be a well-organized highly capable organization that can perform SBCC programs which actually performed by NEED.
